Data theft at the MVCI
The Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), which is the time-share division of hotel chain Marriott International, has stated that it cannot locate backup tapes that contained personal information of more than 200,000 staff, timeshare owners and customers. Marriott has stated that the information includes credit card details and social security numbers as well. The company has not ruled out the possibility of theft.
