Low-cost alternative? True
True Internet, a unit of Thai telephone company True Corp, will this week launch consumer VoIP telephony, initially as a PC-to-PC only service. True seeks to provide a low-cost alternative for residential phone users, and is planning to extend the service to offer PC-to-fixed line telephony in the near future. The Thailand national telecommunications commission granted True Internet a license to provide internet access services and VoIP, but the regulator has yet to allow any internet licensee to provide phone-to-phone VoIP services.
