Questions from Dublin
Dublin-based firm Research and Markets has released a report scintillatingly entitled “Corporate Software Purchasing Trends.” The report presents the findings of the Change Wave Alliance survey on corporate spending for software and IT security, including a look at the impending impact of the Microsoft Vista operating system. The survey was conducted in October 2006 and a total of 1,149 members involved with IT spending in their organization participated.
The key questions addressed in the report include:
• What are corporate spending plans for software in 2007 compared to 2006?
• What types of software will companies be purchasing in 2007?
• Which vendors are companies purchasing software products and/or services from in 2007?
• What is driving software-purchasing decisions?
• Are there increases in IT security spending?
• Are budgets for security related software increasing?
• What are the top spending priorities in security software?
• What software vendors are likely to pick up market share over the next 90 days?
• When will Vista actually ship to corporate customers?
• Are planned PC or server purchases being deferred to wait for Vistas release?
• Is it likely that companies will rely primarily on Vista for protection from viruses, spyware and malware?
The report can be purchased at the Research and Markets home page.
