Three Infor for IBM iSeries
Enterprise applications vendor Infor has released three new software modules that plug into its XA ERP software, which runs on IBM iSeries servers. Called Infor’s ERP XA MES Suite, the new modules – entitled Lean Execution and Planning; Manufacturing Data & Communication; and Quality Management – update extant quality management and data collection tools offered by Infor and add MES tools that focus on lean principles.
The Lean Execution and Planning module is designed to integrate traditional manual kanban processes with ERP. Kanban is a method of using visual tools — such as a card, a container, or a tote — to signal when it is time for replenishment.
The MES software was built by Infor partner Paper-Less, LLC, an MES application designer in Oconomowoc, Wisc., and has reportedly been in development for the past three years.
